Story:

The name of the movie comes from the last words spoken by his father, which was to save his life In 1947, We see little Milkha (Jabtej Singh) run for his life to escape the savage butchery that snatches away almost his entire family.Only his dear sister, played wonderfully by Divya Dutta, remains. As we see it, Milkha never stopped running since the dividing wall between Pakistan and India. The story talks about his perseverance as an athlete.

Milkha was so poor he couldn’t afford running shoes and when he got them, he didn’t know how to run in them. When milka was offered in the army in exchange of running practice,he grabbed it (the run and the milk) with both hands Pavan Malhotra, Milkha’s coach saw his skills and encourages him and The rest of the story Revolvs around how Milkha becomes a National champion.

Analysis:

Farhan doesn’t play Milkha. The actor occupies Milkha’s mind, body and soul,Farhan Akthar is a revelation in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag; his performance is, beyond doubt, top notch, he is magnificent!
And he gets tremendous support from other actors, especially Sonam kapoor and Prakash Raj (as a no-nonsense military man), Pavan Malhotra (as Gurdev Singh, the army coach who groomed Milkha), Yograj Singh (as the national athletics coach) and Divya Dutta (as Milkha’s sister).

Main hold of the film:

Lead actors perfomance.
Screenplay.
Cinematography is pure art in motion. Every frame is simply spectacular.
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra direction.

Drawbacks:

The film is over 3 hours  long Some scenes in the first half could have been  removed.
Some songs, are better if removed from the movie which slows the pace of the movie at times.

Final Words:

On the whole, “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” is a must watch movie that works big time. This one has style and substance, most importantly; it has Farhan Akthar’s, the trump card of this enterprise. The film has long legs to prolong its splendid run.
